  1. F.R.I. (Forest Research Institute, Dehradun)

Location– Dehradun (Situated on Chakrata Road)

Brief:

FRI was established in 1906 as Imperial Forest Research Institute; FRI Dehradun has magnificent colonial style structure. The main attraction is its building which is a National Heritage and styled in Greeko Roman Architecture by C.G.Blomfield in 1929.

It is spread over 2000 acres. With extraordinary scenic and lush green fields having rows of trees. Visitors often want to take long walk in this lush green environment. One can witness wide varieties of plants and trees from across the worlds in the fields of FRI.

Apart from main building and green field, tourists can also enjoy a picnic and botanical garden is also there. Most popular FRI museums are there in FRI Dehradun. It has six museums based on sociology, pathology, non-wood forest products etc.

 

  1. Guchhu Pani or Robbers Cave

Location– Dehradun

Named by British, Robbers cave is also known as Guchhu Pani. It is said that Robbers used to hide here after the robbery that’s why its name is Robbers Cave.

Location– Near Dehradun (Sahastradhara Road)

Sahastradhara which literally means “Thousand fold springs” is a famous tourist spot in Dehradun. At the Baldi River, it is located at 14 Km from Dehradun city. Tourist visit Sahastradhara in large numbers to watch the beauty of waterfalls and caves.

It also has a ropeway providing an airy wide to the mountaintop. From the top one can enjoy the panoramic view of Sahastradhara. A water park named “Joyland Water Park” is also famous tourist spot which attracts visitors. Tourist can enjoy Sahastradhara all around the year.

 

  1. Tiger Falls

Location- Dehradun

Distance-87 Km from Dehradun (1-hour drive)

Famous for– Waterfall, Nature, Photography

Located at a height of 1400 meters above sea level. Tiger falls are 50 meters high waterfalls. The waterfalls are situated amidst a picturesque (visually attractive) setting of dense forests at the foothills of Himalayas. Water converges into a small pond which provides a soothing environment for friends and family. At an elevation 312 ft, it is considered highest direct waterfall in India. Everyone can enjoy Trekking, enjoy food over here.

Location– Dehradun

Distance– 15 Km (From ISBT Dehradun)
