The FIFA World Cup 2018 will be the 21st FIFA World Cup, an international football tournament challenged by the men’s national teams of the member associations of FIFA. The FIFA world cup 2018 is scheduled to take place in Russia from 14 June to 15 July 2018 later the country had been pre arranged the presenting rights on 2 Dec 2010. This will be the first World Cup ever which has been organized in Eastern Europe.

The world cup Russia 2018 will consist of 32 national teams, which contain 31 teams determined through qualifying competitions and the automatically qualified host team.

Venues

A total of 64 matches will be played in 12 venues located in 11 cities. The last or final match will take place on 15 July in Moscow at Luzhniki Stadium. 

FIFA World Cup Schedule

The FIFA World Cup Schedule was declared by FIFA on 24 July 2015. Russia will be positioned A1 in the group stage and play in the opening match at the Luzhniki  Stadium in Moscow on 14 June, which will also host the second semi-final on 11 July and the final on 15 July.

Squads

Each team need first name an initial squad of 30 players. From the initial squad, the team essential name a final squad of 23 players (three of whom will be goalkeepers) by the FIFA closing date. Players in the final squad may possibly be replaced due to serious injury up to 24 hours earlier to kickoff of the team’s first match, where the additional players do not need to be in the initial squad.

For players named in the 30-player initial squad, there is a mandatory rest period between 21 and 27 May 2018, excepting for those involved in the UEFA 2018 Champions league final played on 26 May.

 Group Stage

There will be 8 groups in this tournament FIFA world cup 2018  From Group A to Group H and each group has consist of 4 teams. The top two teams of each group advance to the round of 16. All matches will be played on a knock out basis.

 Tiebreakers

The rankings of teams in each group are determined as monitors:

  1. Points gained in all group matches;
  2. Goal difference in all group matches;
  3. Number of goals counted in all group matches;

If two or more teams are different on the basis of the above three criteria, their rankings are determined as monitors:

  1. Points gained in the group matches between the teams concerned;
  2. Goal difference in the group matches between the teams concerned;
  3. Number of goals scored in the group matches between the teams concerned;
  4. Fair play points
    • Primary yellow card: -1 point;
    • Secondary yellow card: – 3 points;
    • Direct red card: -4 points;
    • Yellow card and Direct Red card: -5 points;
