Organized 28th meeting of GST Council in New Delhi

The 28th meeting of the GST Council headed by Interim Finance Minister Piyush Goyal was completed in New Delhi. The Council deliberated on many important issues on its agenda, including revising rate on many commodities, revising GST law, simplification of returns, and the establishment of National Appellate Tribunal in Delhi.

The GST’s fitment committee has recommended the exemption of GST on statues of sanitary napkins and gods made of marble or stone. It has also recommended the reduction in GST slab for electronic items in lithium-ion batteries in electronic items, including cutting of other items like bamboo flooring, ice making machine, vending machine, water cooler etc.

 

Flipkart and Hotstar jointly launched an advertising platform

India’s largest online retailer, Flipkart, has launched a video ad platform, creating an alliance with the video streaming service Hotstar. This is part of a broad strategy to generate more revenue from the fast-growing video advertising business.

The New platforms, Shopper’s audience networks will enable brands to target purchasers through HotStar personal video ads. Flipkart is planning to leverage data from its large user base and help brands associate with potential purchasers utilizing these focused on advertisements.

Facebook launches ‘Athena’ satellite in 2019

Facebook has confirmed that it is working on a new satellite project Athena, which will provide broadband Internet connection to rural and inappropriate areas.

The purpose of the company is to launch this satellite in early 2019. In 2016, due to the explosion of SpaceX rockets, Facebook’s Internet satellite was lost to Africa.

 

Andhra Pradesh launches e-Pragati Core platform

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu launches ‘e-Pragati core stage’ at Undavalli. A forwarded digital initiative, a purpose of e-Pragati is to connect citizens with 34 departments, 336 autonomous organizations, and 745 more services.

Through this project, the state government desires to achieve the ‘Sunrise AP 2022’ approach. The e-Pragati Authority will accomplish the objectives of the project by supporting seven development missions launched in the areas of e-governance, social empowerment, skill development, urban development, infrastructure, industrial development, and service sector.

 

Government launches microdote technology to check vehicle theft

The governmentt of India has announced the launch of a new microdote technology which will help in checking the vehicle theft. Under this, laser etching of thousands of small points with vehicle identification number will be sprayed on the entire vehicle including the engine.

This technique is yet to be finalized by the bodies making the highest automobile technical standard, the Central Automotive Rule – Technical Standing Committee (CMVR-TSC).

 

Former Chhattisgarh minister Ramchandra Singhdev dies

Former Chhattisgarh’s former finance minister Ramchandra Singhdev has died in Raipur.

He was the finance minister of the then chief minister Ajit Jogi’s cabinet.

 

Meeting of 8th BRICS Health Ministers was held in Durban, South Africa

The meeting of 8th BRICS Health Ministers has been held in Durban, South Africa. The Indian delegation was led by the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, Shri J. P. Nadda. He said that India is committed to ending TB by 2025.

Highlighting India’s achievements in the health sector, he said that the maternal mortality rate (MMR) has decreased by 77 percent in the country, from 556 in 1990 every 100,000 live births in 1990, which decreases in 2016 every 100,000 live births 130 is over. Fourth BIMSTEC Summit will be held in Kathmandu

The fourth BIMSTEC Summit will be held in Kathmandu, Nepal. This relationship was announced by Nepal’s Foreign Affairs Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyavali. The main focus of this summit will be to increase the connectivity between BIMSTEC countries, including roads, airways and transmission lines.

BIMSTEC is a regional economic group comprising seven member states located in the adjoining area of Bay of Bengal, which constitute a uniform regional unity.
